When Torrential Rains lashed Hyderabad to the extent of government asking people not to come out of their houses unless something is really urgent, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is in Delhi. Any Chief Minister would have cut short his trip and come back but KCR stayed behind leaving Hyderabad duties to his son, KTR – the Municipal Minister of the state.
Even after coming back, KCR just confined himself to a couple of Press Meets in Hyderabad and later went to districts tour. He did not care to visit any area of Hyderabad even though the city has become the center of focus. This strategy of KCR comes as a total surprise for Political Analysts. It also divides them into two with each group having one opinion.
The first one is that KCR wants Hyderabad to own KTR. He even wants KTR to vacate Siricilla next time and contest somewhere from Hyderabad. Since the media glare is high, he wants to put whatever good work that happens into son’s account which will later help his political elevation. Another section of experts says that KCR does not believe in Hyderabad and the Settlers majority there.
“We have seen settlers voting against TDP in 2004 when everyone alleged that Chandrababu put all the money and development in Hyderabad. So, the CM sees Hyderabad as not a trustable group and so he is concentrating on the interior districts where the core strength of TRS is. For the backup in Hyderabad, anyways KTR is there,” Political experts opine. Both the opinions are equally interesting.
