Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu got emotional and was in tears in Rajya Sabha this morning as he speaks about yesterday’s ruckus by Opposition MPs in the House. “All sacredness of this House was destroyed yesterday when some members sat on the tables and some climbed on the tables”, he said.
Ever since the commencement of the monsoon session of the Parliament, the Opposition is stalling the proceedings demanding a discussion into allegations of snooping by government agencies using NSO’s Pegasus spying software and Farm Laws.
“Climbing on the tables of Chairman’s podium is like protesting in the sanctum sanitorium of a temple. This is really unfortunate. I could not sleep all night yesterday,” he said. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha has adjourned sine die this morning. The chairman is likely to take action on the concerned members.
Even though the house was to function until August 13th, it was adjourned earlier with no chance of functioning due to the protests of the Opposition.
