The success of any democracy depends on the active involvement of its voters. Higher the voting percentage, more the political awareness and more efficient governments. But it is always seen that voting percentage is good in rural people than urban areas where educated and employed people are more, But according to the recent surveys, it is said that this scenario could change and these segments of people are expected to turn out in big numbers.
It seem to be true from the Postal Ballot Voting today in Delhi state assembly elections. While in 2008, only 1600 voted using this facility, in Today’s election about 40000 Postal votes have reached. This number could increase as the voting time is allowed till December 2nd. This huge turnout of voters could see more responsible governments in Power. Hope it continues in 2014 General elections too!
