With the ongoing Violent Protests in Chennai against the IPL in the wake of Cauvery Board Controversy, IPL has decided to shift all the matches out of the city. On the other side, Vishakapatnam may be lucky if they get some matches out of these.
Andhra Pradesh cricket association says Vishakapatnam ready to host Chennai Super Kings matches if location moved out of Chennai. They had written two months ago to BCCI to convey to them that Vizag Stadium is ready for use and it will be happy to host IPL matches.
Vishakapatnam has so far hosted nine IPL matches, three when Sunrisers opted out of Hyderabad due to the Telangana agitation and six when Mumbai and Pune were forced to move out due to the water crisis.It has to be seen if the city gets one more chance.
