The Bill to Set up Indian Insitute of Petroleum and Energy in Vishakapatnam will be introduced in Rajya Sabha in the upcoming Winter session of Parliament. Lok Sabha already passed the bill in Rainy Season Session in last August.
The Indian Insitute of Petroleum and Energy in Vishakapatnam will be set up with 650 Crore Central Fund. The state government had already allotted 201 acres land for this University in Vangali of Vishakapatnam District.
The University is already running temporarily on Andhra University Campus of Vishakapatnam. Classes have started from the 2016-17 academic year. Once the bill is passed and got President’s assent, it will get the status of IIT.
