India’s Test Capital and Batting Sensation, Virat Kohli is in the race for country’s biggest sportman honour, Rajiv Khel Ratna award. If Kohli is bestowed the honour, he will become only the third cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and the Mahendra Singh Dhoni to do so. BCCI had recommended his name for the award this year.
Four years back, Dhoni was recommended for the Khel Ratna. On the other side, Ajinkya Rahane is recommended for Arjuna Award this year. Besides this Sachin Tendulkar will be one of the country’s goodwill ambassadors for the Rio Olympic Games in August. Sachin had accepted the invitation of the Indian Olympic Association.
Sachin also expressed willingness to meet the Indian contingent before they depart for Brazil. He will be learning about their preparation and Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest cricketer to play the game and brought lot of laurels to the country across the globe. He will certainly be a big inspiration.
