gudur mla Varaprasad Rao VelagapalliOn the account of Tirupati By-election, YSR Congress Gudur MLA, Varaprasad faced the ire of voters of Buradagali Kothapalem village of his constituency, according to a Report in Andhrajyothy. During the assembly election, the MLA promised to resolve various issues pertaining to the village in just six months after the election.

But two years after that nothing has happened. The villagers staged a protest at the local Tahsildhar office two days ago and threatened to boycott the voting but the officials did not care. On voting day, the MLA along with some local leaders went to convince them to Vote.

They chased the MLA shouting ‘MLA Go Back’ slogans. The villagers also manhandled the MLA’s aide who tried to reason with them. The MLA had to go away silently after the backlash. They say they will continue to boycott all the elections until their problems are resolved.

On the other hand, Tirupati Bypolls recorded 64.29% Voter Turnout. The Voter Turnout in 2019 General Election had been 79%. The counting will happen on May 2nd.
