YS Vijayamma has resigned to YSR Congress’s Honorary President position. She announced it herself in the party Plenary.
“I have stayed with Jagan when he is in trouble. Now my daughter Sharmila is fighting all alone and needs my help. To avoid criticism of being in two parties of different states, I am stepping down. As a mother, I am always there for Jagan,” Vijayamma announced.
Interestingly, the news about Vijayamma’s resignation has been broken yesterday itself by ABN – Andhrajyothy.
Vijayamma is seen reading out a speech which has been prepared by the party and obviously approved by the Chief Minister. It is no secret that YSR Congress prepares all speeches of Vijayamma right from the day she came into active politics.
This speech looks no different. Vijayamma has taken the side of Sharmila in the dispute between the brother and sister. Since then, there is a visible gap between Jagan and Vijayamma as well.
But as a mother, she had decided to exit the party gracefully without troubling Jagan.
Sources say that this may be the last time Vijayamma will be seen on any event related to Jagan or YSR Congress.
Both Sharmila and Vijayamma have been with Jagan in thick and thin. They worked hard for the party while in the Opposition and when Jagan is in jail.
They are no where when the party is in power and exited without enjoying any benefits power brings.
