Venkaiah Naidu says he do not want to rely on TDPUnion Minister and BJP Senior Leader, Venkaiah Naidu confirmed that he will not be contesting from Andhra Pradesh for Rajya Sabha. In an interview, Venkaiah confirmed that BJP do not have strength in AP to elect him and he do not want to rely on allies (Telugu Desam Party) to get his elected.

This should clarify the rumours that TDP will nominate Venkaiah Naidu to Rajya Sabha. Venkaiah is nominated to Rajya Sabha for three times. Venkaiah Naidu also clarified that the party’s Parliamentary Board will decide he will contest for Rajya Sabha from Karnataka or any other state.

Four Rajya Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh will fall vacant in this month and will go for elections the next month. According to numbers, three of them will go to TDP and one to YSR Congress. With more and more YSR Congress MLAs joining TDP, the party may also fancy its chances to bag the fourth seat too.
