Just before his retirement from active politics, Venkaiah Naidu has given a parting gift to Andhra Pradesh. He ensured that 2.25 Lakh houses were sanctioned to the state additionally. Center will be funding 3378 Crore of this 14140 Crore Project.
Venkaiah Naidu had ensured that some rules are relaxed to allotment of these houses to AP since the state is battling bifurcation woes. With this additional allotment, the total houses sanctioned to AP reached 4,20,312 under affordable housing scheme.
Andhra Pradesh definitely misses a Big Brother with Venkaiah going off the active politics. He is the one who can barge into any Union Minister’s Chamber and pursue a project of the state. Vice-President election will happen on August 5th and Venkaiah will be taking on Gopalakrishna Gandhi, the candidate of the Opposition Parties.
