One of India’s Most Loved Politician, Atal Bihari Vajpayee has passed away leaving behind a vast legacy. Narendra Modi and the BJP has given a fitting farewell to him. The PM himself walked with the former PM’s Mortal Remains in his final journey as Mexican wave descended onto Delhi streets to pay their last respects.
The entire episode has a lesson for the Congress. The episode should be anything but an eye-opener to Congress about how it should treat its legends. When PV Narasimha Rao passed away in 2004, Sonia Gandhi did not even his mortal remains to be brought into the Congress Head Quarters in Delhi and flown it to Hyderabad.
The Party even while in Power did not even allocate land for PV’s Samadhi in Delhi. The worse is yet to come in Hyderabad unfortunately by the YSR Government here. The State Government could not even make proper arrangement for his funeral. There were no sandal logs which were general used for the funeral of the tall leaders.
The next day of the funeral, a TV Channel reported that some parts of the Former Prime Minister were not even completely burnt (Shocking something how even the family missed) and stray dogs were trying to have their piece. Government arranged for more wood to burn the rest. This is the treatment meted by Congress to the Legendary Leader.
