BJP’s Win in Uttarandhra Graduates Constituency is likely to give an unnecessary headache for its alliance partner, Telugu Desam Party. The morale of the saffron party is on a high and is keen on bargaining for a higher share of seats in the polls for Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections.
The party is keen on consolidating its base in Vishakapatnam which is the largest urban area in the state. The Vishakapatnam MP constituency is represented by BJP state president Kambhampati Haribabu. With Madhav’s election, the party has an MLC apart from an MLA from the region.
The win comes at a time when everyone thought BJP will be rejected for going back on Special Status Promise and Separate Railway Zone. But Political observers say this is more of a TDP win than BJP win.and giving it more seats in GVMC will benefit YSR Congress.
