In an unusual development, the local police evacuated 6 theaters at Alamance Crossing, Burlington following claims of gunshots.
At around 9:45 PM on Saturday, Burlington police were approached by multiple people who claimed to have heard gun shots inside Carousal Cinemas.
The Burlington police and North Carolina highway patrol swiftly went to the area and carried out a search operation.
The officers closed 6 theaters in the mall and carried out the search operation. No explosives or weapons were found at the spot.
There were no evidences of gunshots or anyone getting injured either. There was no active threat the location.
A potentially problematic and chaotic situation was averted as the police safely got the crowds out and carried out a search operation, eventually finding out there is no active threat.
