Unviable Promises Compound to the Woes of Andhra PradeshThe woes of Andhra Pradesh after the State Bifurcation seems to be unending. BJP led Central Government went back on the Special Status Promise as it is not included in the Bifurcation Act and is keeping down the Railway Zone issue since the Act only speaks about examining the possibility.

Things mentioned in the act have got ‘Viability Problems’. The Duggarajapatnam Port and Vijayawada Metro Rail Projects are likely to be put on the backburner as the experts say they are not financially viable or profitable. Both these projects are mentioned in the act but are not viable on the ground now.

This reveals the unscientific promises made to Andhra Pradesh during the State Bifurcation. If Vijayawada Metro with the Capital coming up is unviable, the fate of Vishakapatnam Metro will also be the same. Congress will have to take the blame for the mess.

On the other hand, BJP led central government which has developed a habit of going back on the promises made to AP will put these away in the name of ‘Viability Problems’. Besides all this, the state and the people continue to suffer for no fault of them.
