Sankranthi is one of the biggest festival celebrated in the Andhra region and it happens to be the first big festival in the new year. This coming Sankranthi Andhra Pradesh government is planning a special gift pack for the citizens and this idea is put forward by the Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Suneetha on the order of CM Naidu.
Ms.Suneetha has extensively discussed the ‘Gift Pack Plan’ with the joint collectors, Civil Supplies commissioner, MROs and many female officials on what should be included in the pack. Since it happens to be a festival during which a lot of traditional sweets like ‘ariselu’ will be prepared, Suneetha opines that those items which would be of use for celebrating the festival with which the delicacies will be made should be given in the pack.
AP government is planning to include 1Kg wheat flour, 500 gms jaggery, 1 Kg lentils, one Kg oil packet, 250 gms ghee and a few other items. The decision on what should be finally included would be taken in the cabinet meeting which is scheduled for 16 th of december. This gift pack idea is like sweet news for the people of AP before their preparations for Sankranthi sweets actually begun. For common people, this would ensure that everyone celebrates the festival.
