Union Minister Says AP and J&K are Not ComparableUnion Government has come under severe criticism after making no special allocations for the State of Andhra Pradesh. While the Government says there are no state-based allocations, they are pointing at the 30,000 Crore allocated to the Development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar tried to downplay the issue of Andhra Pradesh. “There is no bias towards any state. Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir can not be compared. Both are different cases. After revoking Article 371, Jammu and Kashmir need Special Assistance,” he said.

On the other side, YSR Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh which has supported the Central Government in everything after coming to Power is in trouble with these allocations. The party for obvious reasons, can not support or strictly criticize the Central Government.

A major disappointment in the budget is that there are no allocations even for crucial projects like Polavaram.
