Union Home Ministry Begins Exercise On Lockdown. Decision Made?We are on the fifteenth day of the Three Weeks Nationwide Lockdown. The hot topic right now is about if or not the Lockdown will be further extended. We have seen Chief Ministers like K Chandrasekhara Rao advocating to extend the Lockdown at least for two weeks as the cases are on a rise.

Union Home Ministry had held meetings with District Collectors and SPs across the country and has taken their opinion. The majority opinion is that the Lockdown should be extended. The Ministry congregated their opinions and will submit a report to the Prime Minister.

“There are chances to extend the Lockdown,” Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kishan Reddy told the media. The Coronavirus cases in India are increasing at alarming rates. The first 2500 cases took nine weeks to register while the next 2500 cases were recorded in just six days.

Around 40% of the total cases in India are related directly or indirectly to the Nizamuddin Markaz event. If the event did not happen, we may be safe relatively and the Lockdown would have been relaxed after April 14th. The next couple of weeks are going to be crucial for the country.
