Telangana Municipal Minister K Taraka Ramarao is getting sleepless nights. It is not the opposition parties that are giving him the sleep insomnia but the bad roads of Hyderabad are. KTR is having a dream run in the office for the last two and half years. There is virtually no opposition and even the leftovers are made to vanish with Operation Akarsha.
The economic condition of Hyderabad had stabilized post the agitations and the city with its inherited strengths continued to go strong. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao left no chance to portray everything as an achievement of his scion. KTR was made the Municipal Minister during the GHMC elections and KCR back then said KTR is an apt fit because he went to every nook and corner of the state.
But then KTR seems to be struggling here. The Young Minister announced a 100 days program to change the face of Hyderabad but could not do anything about it. But then the honeymoon ensured that nobody talked about it. But then an unexpected enemy knocked on KTR’s door. The enemy is the incessant rain that is lashing the city from the last one month or so. The rains damage the already worsened roads and clogged water everywhere.
Some of the roads are resembling rivers and lakes. Much to the agony of the people, the rain gods are descending in Hyderabad during the peak times. Hours of Traffic Snarls is pushing the citizens to the edge and there are questions all over about what the government is really doing. Some of the people term the condition of the current roads as the most pathetic in the last decade. But then roads can not be repaired in the monsoon season and so, KTR is waiting helplessly for the rain gods to show some mercy.
