It is reported that the consumer, who hails from Hyderabad, ordered 8,428 plates of idlis, including orders placed for family and friends, while traveling across cities like Chennai and Bangalore.
March 30 is celebrated as World Idli Day, and on this occasion, Swiggy released its reports covering the period from March 30, 2022, to March 25, 2023. The analysis offers interesting insights into the popularity of the south Indian delicacy.
In the last 12 months, Swiggy has delivered 33 million plates of idlis, indicating its immense popularity among customers. Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai are the top three cities ordering the highest number of idlis.
It is also revealed that people mostly order idlis between 8 am to 10 am, with users from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Mumbai also ordering idlis during dinner time. Plain idli is declared the most popular variant across all cities.
