Kadapa is the native of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and a stronghold of the YSR Congress. TDP drew blank in the district in the 2019 elections.
Even in the 2014 elections, TDP has managed only one seat out of the ten constituencies in the district.
However, the party is slowly getting strong in the district. Former Kamalapuram MLA Veera Siva Reddy is going to join TDP soon
Former Minister and Mydukuru Ex-MLA DL Ravindra Reddy will also join the party.
Veera Siva Reddy met Nara Lokesh the other day.
These leaders were favorable to YSR Congress in the 2019 elections.
Veera Siva Reddy who started his political career in TDP joined Congress in 2009. He did not contest in the 2014 and 2019 elections but extended support to YSRCP in 2019.
Veera Siva Reddy worked for the victory of Jagan’s uncle, Ravindranath Reddy in 2019.
DL Ravindra Reddy who was a minister in YSR’s cabinet joined YSRCP just before 2019 elections but was not happy with the party.
These leaders changing the party indicates a change in the mood of the people, TDP leaders say.
They even say some existing MLAs will join the party in the coming days.
