The Past Couple of weeks have been disappointing for Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is touring on foot the last but one district of Andhra Pradesh. The first big misfire has been not going to the Titli Cyclone affected Srikakulam district even as he is stationed a few Kilometers away in Vizianagaram.
Jagan‘s announcement of going to Srikakulam only after the Padayatra in Vizianagaram received a lot of flak from all corners. It sounded insensitive to keep political commitments ahead of the basic humanity. The next misfire is totally unexpected. Jagan was attacked with a Small Knife at Vishakapatnam Airport resulting in Minor Bruise.
Jagan who behaved very normal at the spot tried to do a lot of Hungama once he is in Hyderabad. The party gave a wrong information about the wound size and the revelation of the attacker being an ardent fan of Jagan only defamed the Opposition Leader in the eyes of the people in the State.
The desperate attempts of YSR Congress Leaders to portray the Attacker as a TDP fan backfired completely and worsened things for Jagan. At a place where there should be some sympathy, Jagan lost it all and paid price for being too greedy. With these incidents, Two Misfires have happened for Jagan in just Two Weeks.
