Rahul Dravid - GangulyFormer Team India Great Rahul Dravid is likely to be the next Coach of India. After lot of persuasions, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has convinced him. Rahul Dravid is expected to apply later today. He will be replacing the current coach Ravi Shastri whose tenure ends after the T20 World Cup.

Rahul Dravid is currently the Head of National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru and played an instrumental role in grooming the youngsters which makes the bench strong for Team India. Since it is equally important, BCCI wants some one equally good to Head NCA.

Another Former Cricketer VVS Laxman is likely to Head the NCA. Virender Sehwag is also interested to be Team India’s Head Coach but doesn’t wish to go through the hiring process, which includes filing applications and appearing for interviews. But Dravid is the first choice due to his track record at the NCA and also due to his non-controversial nature.

Meanwhile, Team India has suffered a shocking defeat in the T20 World Cup campaign losing its first match against arch rivals Pakistan. The team is looking to redeem itself with the next match opposite New Zealand on coming Sunday.
