KCR confusion overTelangana Formation dayIf the reports emerging are to be believed, Telangana government has come up with a strange idea to celebrate the state formation day twice a year. The government is seriously considering to hold celebrations on both – the day the state came into being (June 2) and on the day the creation of the state was announced (December 9).

June 2nd is not being a very convenient time due to intense heat. Also the turn out of students is poor for the celebrations as they will be in Summer vacation until June 2nd week every year. If the idea materializes, the flag will be hoisted on June 2 along with a parade, while on December 9, various sports and cultural events will be held.

However the major problem with December 9th is that it is Sonia Gandhi’s birthday. And the party claims, the UPA chairperson announced the state’s formation as a gift to the people of Telangana. KCR is mulling if this decision may give some political mileage to the main opposition party in the state.
