Andhra Pradesh Government’s attempts to exempt Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) was successful to some extent. After big pressure from the state, Center had agreed to exempt Laddu Prasadam, Thalaneelalu (Hair Offering) and Accommodation (Up to 1000 Rupees) from GST.
Accommodation above 1000 Rupees will attract GST but then such rooms are only 5% of the total rooms in Tirumala. Earlier they said GST effect will be to the tune of 77.5 Crores per year to TTD. More than the financial obligation, it is a matter of religious sentiment.
The state government also announced that it will see if it can exempt TTD from GST completely using the provisions it has in the act but that will only mean more burden to the state which is already burdened by a deficit budget.Don't MissWhy Not Jagan Take Advantage of Pawan Kalyan? From the last few days, we have been seen Pawan Kalyan and...Don't MissRangasthalam Censor –Should Fans Worry? In the recent past, the biggies from Telugu cinemas have shown tremendous...Don't MissMad Rush For May 11 Raising DoubtsAs many as four films are slated to release on May 11th...Don't MissBaahubali Trainer: Even Rakul Going Behind ThemBollywood fitness mantra is sporting a very lean body to the extent...Don't MissHopes on Akhil's Re-Re-LaunchFinally, Akhi's third film is in the pre-production stage and with a...
