Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu used to make several tours to Delhi with various demands of Andhra Pradesh. During his visits, he used to gift Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Shawls, Momentos, and Laddoos to the Union Ministers. Back then, the YSR Congress used to ridicule Chandrababu for wasting money on them while not getting anything in return.
While it is too early to judge what YSR Congress government got from the Center, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is continuing the same trend of gifting the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Shawls, Momentos, and Laddoos to the Prime Ministers and the other Union Ministers.
PM Modi got one and KCR got about three or four of them till now. Even though a Christian, Jagan is gifting them to the other dignitaries respecting their faiths. Let us see if these presents get something useful to Andhra Pradesh in the next five years.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting if someone files an RTI to find the costs incurred by TTD for these Shawls, Momentos, and Laddoos
