TSRTC battling bifurcation woes!Earlier they said Telangana RTC is appearing to be more profitable or less on losses after parting ways with the Andhra Pradesh division. However it proved to be wrong. TSRTC had lost 7.5 Crores from bus passes along from April-July this year when compared to same time in 2014.

Shut down of over 100 professional colleges in Greater Hyderabad, holding of separate common entrance tests (CETs) by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, students returning to their native places from Hyderabad and other such reasons are behind the incomes dipping.

A dip of 15000 applicants was clearly visible while at the same time last year there were 60000 applicants. RTC also found that students coming from AP to Hyderabad to pursue various courses in summer holidays also decreased considerably. Most of these students do not have personal vehicles and so rely on RTC buses largely. The effect could increase in coming years.
