Telangana-congressTelangana Congress is on the verge of losing its Opposition Status. The Party won 21 seats in the last elections and got the main opposition status in the state Assembly. Out of the 21, Two MLAs expired and the party lost these seats in the by-elections. So far seven Congress MLAs have joined TRS, reducing its strength to 12.

According to the numbers in Telangana Assembly, a party should win at least 12 MLA seats to become the main opposition. If Congress loses one more MLA, it will lose the status. Reports are emerging that some more MLAs and MLCs of the party are in touch with TRS and will be leaving the party any time.

Congress incharge Digvijay Singh will be coming down to Hyderabad and will have a meeting with all the MLAs and MPs. If needed, he will take them to Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi. Congress also lost one of its two MPs from the state after Nalgonda MP, Gutta Sukhender Reddy joined TRS the other day.
