Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha at Kongarakalan has inflicted a loss of 27.17 Lakhs to HMDA. Since all the vehicles coming to the meeting via Outer Ring Road, TRS asked to waive of the Toll Charges for that day. HMDA agreed on a condition that one day Toll Collection to be paid by the TRS Party.
The private contractor who collects Toll on ORR deposits 87 Lakhs to HMDA Every day. So TRS was asked to pay 87 Lakhs to HMDA but the party only paid 59.83 Lakhs to HMDA which means a loss of 27.17 Lakhs to the Development Authority. This was revealed by HMDA itself when asked through Right to Information (RTI).
But then since it is the Meeting of the Ruling Party, HMDA is tight-lipped and hands tied fearing the consequences. With the news spreading out, it has to be seen if the Ruling Party comes forward and pays the rest of the amount. Or else it will send wrong signals to the people at the time of the elections about the misuse of Power.
