Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao announced 105 candidates of the total 119 seats of Telangana minutes after the dissolution of the Assembly. He is now gearing up to announce the candidates for the rest of the 14 seats as well. Surveys were commissioned in these seats to finalize the candidates.
We are told that two sitting MLAs in these seats may not retain tickets. Candidates for all the fourteen seats will be announced at a time probably in the next couple of days. After the announcement, TRS will be in full-fledged campaign mode. Candidates who have got tickets in the first list already started campaigning.
The ruling party believes that the elections will happen on or before November when three other states – Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh will go for elections. They are confident of winning nothing short of a century as the Opposition is totally in jitters.
