Twelve Opposition parties at the national level have attended a dinner hosted by former Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday. The leaders spoke about strengthening the Opposition and defeating BJP in the upcoming General Elections.
Interestingly, Telangana Rashtra Samiti has also attended the dinner meeting. The attendance has given rise to the speculations if TRS is open for an alliance with Congress going forward. BJP is making quick inroads in Telangana and the results are evident in a few elections in recent times.
Congress and TRS have fought against each other for two elections after the state formation. But they may join hands to defeat a common enemy. TRS Supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao has promised to merge his TRS party into Congress if Telangana is granted but went back on the promise after the state is created.
This will be a new political development in Telangana politics if it happens.
