Jagan - Chandrababu NaiduThe way the main political leaders of Andhra Pradesh – YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu responded to a serious issue like the Privatization of Vishakapatnam Steel Plant is appalling, to say the least.

Chief Minister Jagan instructed all his leaders not to speak about the issue until he takes a decision. In normal circumstances, the decision should be a no-brainer but when political compulsions and benefits are weighed, it becomes complicated and will obviously take time.

The Chief Minister did not even mind coming before media while the employee unions are on a boil in Vishakapatnam. He just sent a formal letter to the Prime Minister urging him to reconsider the decision.

The response of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is equally disappointing. Naidu shied away from the media and posted a series of tweets about the issue. Naidu posted seven tweets speaking about the importance of the steel plant and criticized Jagan for not doing enough to stop the privatization.

Enough care has been taken to avoid criticizing the Central Government. The situation of the state is so tragic that there is no leader who could firmly stand up and say this is wrong right on the face of the Central Government.
