Andhra Pradesh High Court had stayed the shifting of the Capital from Amaravati but the Government seems to be doing the background work silently. We have already seen the Government shifting a couple of offices from Amaravati to Kurnool. Now, the Government is making ground clear in Vishakapatnam.
It is known to our readers that the Government is planning to have the Secretariat in the Millenium IT Tower constructed during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime. The Government had already vacated the offices working from there. And now, plans are also to construct Millennium Tower-B.
The Government had released a G.O. sanctioning 19.73 Crore for the construction. The Millennium Towers project was started by Chandrababu Naidu in a bid to make Vishakapatnam a destination for Software Companies. But the irony is that the existing companies are being vacated from there.
On the other side, all the instructions pertaining to the Capital Shift are only verbal and the Government will give official orders only after the High Court allows. The Government is making sure that everything is ready to operate from Vishakapatnam once the court gives its nod.
