Tirupathi TDP MLA passed awayTirupati MLA, Venkata Ramana (TDP) has breathed his last a short while ago while being treated in Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Venkata Ramana suffered a massive heart attack last month and was later shifted to the ICU of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati. He was later shifted to Chennai for better medical care.

Venkata Ramana previously underwent two By-Pass surgeries. Venkata Ramana jumped into TDP from the Congress just before election. Chandrababu Naidu chose him over the previous aspirant Chadalawada Krishnamurthy since he is considered as a winning horse. Venkata Ramana trounced his nearest rival from YSR Congress, former MLA B. Karunakar Reddy by a margin of 41,531 votes. Irony is that the latter won over the former in the 2012 by-election by a margin of over 19,000 votes.
