An agreementCome this June 2nd, We will be completing three years of Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation. But there are more than a dozen important issues which are waiting for resolution including the division of assets and employees. The Bifurcation Act all the contentious issues are to be resolved through talks by June 2, 2017.

In the case of a failure to find a resolution to any of the issues, the Centre would take over and give its decision which will be binding in the two states. The unresolved issues include sharing of water, institutions, assets and liabilities distribution and division of High Court.

An agreement is reached on the division of only nine institutions out of the 142 listed under Schedule IX and X of the Act. Only the issue of Power Sharing has been solved amicably as both the states becoming near-surplus in the power supply position.

AP Bhavan issue is also not solvable till date as both the states wants the building for themselves because of its central location. On the other side, Telangana is waiting for AP to vacate the Secretariat buildings in Hyderabad. Problems in the division of teachers, police personnel and employees of the electricity department are still waiting for a resolution.
