Three Years After Bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh and TS till Unsure of Assets DivisionIt’s been three years since the state bifurcation, but both the Telugu states are yet to come to an amicable agreement on the division of 91 government corporations and companies resulting in chaos in many organizations.

A series of meetings happened to iron out their differences on sharing of assets, liabilities, and employees working in these institutions but the contentious issues still persist. 69 Corporations are already divided.

Serious differences are on with regard to the assets of RTC, AP Genco, Transco, CPDCL, AP Foods and Girijan Corporation. These corporations are cash-cows and both the states do not want to be let go their share. Out of the total 7,000 employees whose fate had to be decided, nearly 3,800 have retired in the last three years.

As a result, about 3,000 employees are left waiting for the final decision. Besides one lakh employees of the RTC are also to be divided. The Sheela Bhide committee appointed to look after these was given a fourth time extension.
