Telangana has officially reported its first Omicron variant of Coronavirus cases. Two international passengers were tested positive for the variant – One is a 24-yr-old Kenyan woman national and the other is a Somalian national. Both were from “non-risk” countries.
The Kenyan is from Tolichowki and has been traced and shifted to TIMS – Gaachibowli. Her father and uncle are also positive and have been isolated. The Somalian too is from the Mehdipatnam area and has been isolated. Meanwhile, a transit passenger from West Bengal is also tested positive.
He arrived at Hyderabad airport on an international flight. Officials in West Bengal have been informed and officials say the third case did not cross the Airport premises. Meanwhile, officials say there is no local transmission of Omicron Variant in Telangana.
There are news reports of such cases in Andhra Pradesh as well but the Government has only confirmed one so far and the patient is already recovered as well.
