Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fired on TDP MLAs for disrespecting Governor during his address. As usual, he praised his rule and tried to belittle Chandrababu Naidu.
During that long speech, one statement of Jagan indicates the actual and biggest problem with him. “We will ensure that welfare schemes did not stop even during COVID. Will Chandrababu‘s name remind at least one scheme? (చంద్రబాబు పేరు చెబితే గుర్తుకొచ్చే ఒక పథకం ఉందా?),” the CM asked.
The entire address is all about the freebies that are dolled out in his tenure so far. There is not even a single mention of any development done in these three years.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is a young leader and he talks about old school politics like freebies. This is precisely the problem with him. As a representative of the young generation, one would expect him to speak about development and investments.
But the old and routine ways of doing politics and ignoring the real development for the sake of freebies is a big disappointment. An even bigger problem is expecting someone like Chandrababu to follow the same.
Even after the state division and no TDP in Telangana, Chandrababu will be credited for HITEC City and many other infrastructure projects. People for generations together will remember that but not about the money which fades from the memory when the Bank account becomes zero.
The tragedy is the Chief Minister wearing it as a badge on his shirt.
