This is Always a Problem with Chandrababu NaiduOne of the major complaints about Chandrababu Naidu since the start of his career is that he tends to get over calculative at times delaying the process of decision making. Many a time that has hurted TDP but the attitude just does not change.

The other day, Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana sworn in as the 48th Chief Justice of India. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He is the only second Telugu person to have become the CJI and naturally, everyone in both the Telugu states should speak highly of him.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao sent a Press Statement about the same, a couple of hours after his oath. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy desperately tried to stall NV Ramana’s elevation making Corruption allegations and the allegations of being a stooge to Chandrababu.

He made a complaint about Ramana a few months ago for trying to influence the judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court against his Government. After an in-house inquiry, the complaint was set aside and cleared the way for Ramana.

Jagan will be naturally unhappy and did not wish Ramana until 4.35 PM on Saturday. That is very much expected but Chandrababu too did not wish Ramana until 7.57 PM i.e., three hours after Jagan wished.

“Chandrababu was afraid that his wishing Ramana would allow YSR Congress to make propaganda against his party. He waited until Jagan made his move. This is a party that has not put up a candidate against PV Narasimha Rao in Nandhyala to respect a Telugu Bidda who is becoming the Prime Minister of the country. But the same party has gone into the shell when a Telugu man has got a rare honor. The overcautious approach may not be damaging to the party in this particular issue but that is one thing no politician should ever have,” a political expert opines.
