Andhra Pradesh Politics is never devoid of Drama even in a crisis. From demanding elections despite the health emergency to an alleged scam in the procurement of Test Kits, we have seen everything. Andhra Pradesh Government procured One Lakh Rapid Corona Testing Kits from South Korea and they are being used as well.
The hell broke loose after TDP alleged a scam in this procurement since Chattisgarh announced to have obtained the kits at 337 Rupees. But Andhra Pradesh Government procured them 700 Rupees Per Kit. The company which facilitated this deal is allegedly linked to Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy’s relative, as per TDP.
While the authenticity of these allegations can not be ratified now, the response of the Government is meek till now. Arogya Andhra claims this as a malicious campaign and went on to say that the kits were procured at 700 Rupees. The next claim is even more bizarre. Arogya Andhra claimed that the final prices are being negotiated.
Negotiations after the delivery and the usage of kits are something not heard of, people ridiculed. Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary, Health department of Andhra Pradesh speaking to Eenadu said that each kit was procured by the government at 640 Rupees per kit. He also went on to say that 25% of the payment is cleared. TDP reveals some documents claiming that the test kits are procured at 730 Rupees a kit. So, we have three prices – 730, 700, and 640.
