The other day, the counsel representing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked for more time to file a counter in the bail revocation case. The CBI Court has given ten days time for Jagan and the CBI to file their counters. The next hearing of the case is posted on May 17th.
Legal Experts say the CBI counter, in this case, is going to be crucial. The CBI will have to file a detailed affidavit regarding how these cases are progressing in the last two years when the accused has become the Chief Minister. CBI will have to agree or disagree with the allegations of no co-operation in the investigation.
CBI’s stand on the issue is going to be crucial in the court in deciding to revoke or not to revoke the case. The court will also collaborate that with the number of court appearances Jagan did before and after assuming the office. Jagan’s lawyers will put forth the arguments about why the allegations of the complainant are not true and why the bail should not be canceled.
They will also try to prove how this petition of Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju is politically motivated and can not be taken into consideration. Since there are multiple cases and issues, the trial is likely to go on for a while and the judgment is unlikely to be out in a month or two.
