Over 50 Telangana journalists have come on roads protesting against MSOs ban on TV9 and Andhrajyothy channels in the state. Journalists have launched peaceful protests alleging that the government is trying to muzzle media rights. Police have stopped the rally at Tourism office and dragged journalists on road and pushed them in to vans. Arrested journalists continued their protests in jail. On the other side, Police even obstructed other media personnel who are trying to shoot the protests and Police action on protesting journalists. Various political parties and People’s organizations have extended their support to agitating journalists.

It is known that the channels were banned by the MSOs of the region after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao slammed them in Assembly for airing derogatory news on the region. Andhra Jyothy had taken the issue to the concerned officials, central government and the governor but no action is taken. KCR had kept mum even after receiving a personal letter from Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar.
