YS_Jagan_CabinetTelugu Desam Party registered a remarkable victory in the MLC elections. It has won all three seats in the Graduates quota including two of Rayalaseema.

The opposition is completely upbeat and claims this is the real ground situation in Andhra Pradesh.

The ruling party is under severe stress.

Uttarandhra seat loss embarrassed the Government because it is shown as a mandate against the capital. Two seats of Rayalaseema including the West Rayalaseema seat which has Jagan’s own district are also lost.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy already announced a cabinet revamp after the MLC elections.

He told the ministers that three of them will make way for three new MLCs.

But there is pressure on the CM to make further changes in the cabinet after this loss.

“The first cabinet won all the elections empathetically. This cabinet 2.0 lost its first election itself. There should be a complete revamp,” the MLAs who lost their cabinet berth in the last expansion say.

The elections in Andhra Pradesh are around a year away. It has to be seen if Jagan has the courage to revamp the cabinet totally which means more leaders will be dissatisfied.

Jagan himself did not take the loss seriously. We have seen the party making leisure comments like ‘Not our vote bank, officials did not listen to us, etc”. The CM did not even review the results. So, there may not be many changes,” a leader in the party says.
