Kapu Strongman Mudragada Padmanabham has announced undertaking a Padayatra from 16th to 21st of this month. The Padayatra will begin from Ravulapalem and will go on up to Antharvedi on the Kapu Reservations Issue. Mudragada did not apply for the permission to this Padayatra even though Section 30 is imposed across the state.
On the other side, Police department had started taking precautionary measures. 3000 Police Personnel were deployed in Konaseema and they will be stationed at sensitive areas on East Godavari for the next 10 days. This is the first time such huge forces were deployed in Konaseema as the government do not want to take any chances considering the past experiences.
Intelligence and Police have already put an eye on Kapu Leaders and miscreants who are blacklisted during Kapu Gharjana violence. On the other side, a lawyer from Rajamahendravaram put up a PIL in Hyderabad High Court demanding to stop this Padayatra as it has the potential to disrupt Law and Order in the region. It has to be seen what the court decides!
