It is known that Telugu States Andhra Pradesh and Telangana competed each other for setting up the Hero Motocorp plant in their own regions. Finally it was said that Telangana will bag the plant after the officials of the company came down and inspected the allotted land. However neighbouring state Karnataka has geared up its plans to grab the plant.

Karnataka CM Sidda Ramaiah is in talks with the company regarding this. It is said that the company also inspected the land to be issued by the government at Mummigatti near Dharwada on July 5th. The company officials will meet Sidda Ramaiah face to face on August 3rd and let him know their requirements. Sources within the company say Karnataka is the front runner for this plant.

The company will be investing 2000 to 3000 Crores in this plant which will ensure 1000 direct employment. Hero MotoCorp is the leading two wheeler maker in the country. This is the sixth manufacturing facility for the company across the country. The company wants to setup the unit in South India so as to cater the needs of the region
