Telugu Made Compulsory in Schools of TelanganaTelangana Government has issued an order that all schools in the state – including government and private – should offer Telugu as a compulsory subject from classes I-XII. Those schools violating this order will be de-recognized.

The state government has also directed that all commercial establishments in the state will henceforth display signages in Telugu, apart from two languages of their choice. All the schools will use the same text books prepared by Telugu Sahitya Academy for Telugu Subject.

This is a commendable job by the government for the promotion of Telugu language. It will give the much-needed big boost to the promotion of Telugu language. The World Telugu Conference will be held from December 15-19 this year in Hyderabad and the government has sanctioned 50 Crore.
