Telugu Bidda Venkaiah Naidu Sworn in as Vice PresidentTelugu Bidda Venkaiah Naidu took oath as the 13th Vice-President of India. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the Oath in an event held at Durbar Hall in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, NDA MPs and Several Chief Ministers have attended the ceremony.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the event while Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao who was to fly to Delhi canceled his trip in the last minute. Later, Venkaiah Naidu was accorded a grand welcome in Rajya Sabha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Venkaiah as possibly the first Vice-President who knows the ins and outs of Parliament so well. He also said, “Due to our Constitution and maturity of our democracy, today common man can hold these positions, one need not belong to a big family”.
