Telangana Using Amaravati against Andhra PradeshTelangana Government seems to be trying to use ‘Amaravati’ against Andhra Pradesh. The state has raised two points before Brijesh Kumar Tribunal complaining against water allocations to Andhra Pradesh. The first point is that AP is diverting Godavari water through Polavaram and Pattiseema.

So, Telangana has asked the Tribunal to reduce Krishna Water Share for AP. The Second Point is that Andhra Pradesh is collecting more than 30000 acres for Amaravati Construction. The irrigation cover will be reduced significantly and it will transform into an Urban Area.

Telangana asked the Tribunal to reduce the water share accordingly and allocate it to Telangana. The drinking water facilities of Chennai are being met with just 1500 Cuseus through Pothireddypadu Head Regulator, Telangana also wants to make a similar arrangement for AP.

Water Allocation is one of the most contentious issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana since the state bifurcation. Center and the water boards it has appointed were just confined to making Temporary arrangements and are not keen on finding a permanent solution for this problem.
