One more controversy is getting ready to spring up between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as the later is gearing up to disrupt the power supply to AP offices in the common capital. Telangana Power officials say that Andhra Pradesh government has not paid the power bills to the offices after bifurcation.
However AP officials say they will pay the bills after the sharing of power bills of government office buildings in Hyderabad is decided since most offices are used in common by both the states. There are 1031 government offices in the common capital and they have ran up a bill of Rs 14 crores in these six months.
Most of the assets and others were divided between both the Telugu states in the population basis. Andhra Pradesh government has agreed to pay 58% of the power bill of the Secretariat. For other buildings, this mechanism was not implemented. Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) is gearing up to fuse out Andhra offices.
