Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is planning to have a One lakh Crore budget for the state. The previous government in the United state in the wake of election had only tabled vote on account budget. After the appointed day the budget was divided between both the states to meet expenses till September. So both the states now planning budgets from October to the end of this financial year.

KCR wants to have a mega budget of One lakh Crore with all his poll promises incorporated. However the final figure in this issue will be arrived after CM’s consultation with the Cabinet, senior officials of various revenue earning, welfare and other departments. The Budget Session of Telangana will begin on July 12 and will last for a week.Unlike his Andhra Pradesh counterpart, KCR is having the padding of a surplus budget but there is still a challenge as all sections of the Telangana state are waiting for some sort of relief or benefits from the first budget of separate Telangana state.

KCR’s poll promises like waiving off crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh, giving three acre land for landless Dalits from August 15, launching the two bed-room housing scheme for weaker sections costing Rs 3 lakh each, free education from KG to PG through residential schools, completing pending irrigation projects, reimburse fees for students studying in professional colleges, providing old age pension of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 for handicapped etc. will take a heavy toll on the budget.
