Telangana's Strange Argument on Power ArrearsTelangana Government dashed a letter to Andhra Pradesh alleging that the latter has to pay 1670 Crores to them and they will be stopping the Power Supply if they are not paid. This is in response to AP’s letter about 4449 Crores of Power Arrears.

Telangana Genco has come up with an interesting argument to counter the arrears issue. They say the assets and liabilities of Power Utilities have to be divided. If at all they are divided and after settling the arrears, AP has to pay them 1670 Crore.

But then, AP says assets division is a different topic and it is also not in the purview of Telangana to decide how the assets are going to be divided. According to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, AP is to get 46.11 percent and Telangana 53.89 percent from the total power generated in the two states.
